Pig-Racing Extravaganza for Charity!

A unique mix of Hollywood A-Listers, sporting stars and racing pigs, combined to raise over £3000 for Rowcroft Hospice.

Alliance Build Company hosted a ‘Pig-Racing’ fundraiser with over 100 people in attendance at The Divers Arms, Torquay.

The fun-filled evening consisted off pig-racing with host Adey Byng, an auction, a raffle, music from Danni B and a disco until the late hours on Friday 11th November.

Among the items auctioned at the event was a framed ‘Star Wars’ movie poster signed by David Prowse, a signed Manchester United FC shirt and a framed ‘Saturday Night Fever’ poster, signed by John Travolta.

Company Director Daniel Mitchell said: “Being part of the 40@40 Corporate Club for Rowcroft has allowed us to support a cause that is truly close to our hearts. Most of the Alliance team have had family members or friends that have been provided with loving care and support by the wonderful staff at the Hospice, whom we cannot thank enough.”

“This was our little bit to help make a difference while having at fantastic evening of fun along the way”.

Rowcroft’s Community Engagement Manager, Alexia Croft, said: “Rowcroft’s fundraising team always attend events where they can, especially when there’s pig-racing, a brilliant raffle and auction!”

Croft said: “My wedding is coming up in a few weeks, so the Rowcroft team thought it was the perfect opportunity to surprise me at the event with a Hen-Party! A huge thank you to Alliance Build Company for putting on such a fantastic night and for raising such a terrific amount!”

The local building business is a member of Rowcroft’s 40@40 Corporate Club this year, as the charity celebrate their 40-year anniversary.

40 other local businesses have committed as part of this club to raise a minimum of £1000, to donate to Rowcroft.
