Ladies chorus ‘Yours In Harmony’ are jetting off to Spain, to compete in the Spanish Association of Barbershop Singers competition in April.
Based in Torquay, ‘Yours In Harmony’ is a fun-loving ladies four-part acapella chorus, who have been together for over 16 years.
Their passion for singing has led them to perform both nationally and internationally in chorus competitions and concerts.
This will be their second time attending the Spanish Association of Barbershop Singers competition, after successfully competing in 2019 in Calpe.
Musical Director Anne Proctor said: “It’s always been a pleasure to sing as a group and to share our love of singing with different audiences. We are so excited to perform in Spain for a second time!”
The chorus hope to blow the judges away with their two songs; ‘Come What May’ from Moulin Rouge and ‘Razzle-Dazzle’ from
Chicago.
The award-winning chorus is a member of the Ladies Association of Barbershop Singers, winning ‘Best Novice Chorus’ in 2015, and recently winning the ‘Female Barbershop’ category at the Torbay Music Festival.
Founding-member Susie Clark said: “Being a part of Yours In Harmony has taken me from singing in the shower to singing on the stage! We love taking part in competitions, but for me it’s all about the fun we have, I really have met some of the most amazing women.”
Annually, the ladies perform at ‘Carols in the Caves’ at Kents Cavern, as well as taking part in the ‘Torbay Music Festival’.
